Who we are

A Kenyan non-profit built on service, leadership, advocacy, equity, justice and integrity.

About LAWK

LAWK is a non-profit organisation in Kenya, established in 2024 to serve local communities.

We are dedicated to driving growth in the communities where people live a dignified life. To achieve this, we run projects that improve health, hygiene and sanitation among women and school communities, build entrepreneurship skills, support education for young people, and advance advocacy and inclusion for women.

Our approach is community-centred and participatory. We work directly with women, youth, adolescents and disadvantaged groups, including persons living with disability, to design and deliver programmes that respond to the realities they face.

Our work combines direct service delivery in WASH, health and entrepreneurship with sustained advocacy on gender equality, SRHR and inclusion, so that both immediate needs and underlying systemic barriers are addressed.

Mission

To empower women, young people and underserved communities to live healthy and dignified lives by advancing hygiene and sanitation, supporting education, strengthening entrepreneurship and championing advocacy, equity, justice and equal opportunities for all.

Core values

Service, leadership, advocacy, equity, justice and integrity define who we are and how we work.

Our guiding principles

Service
Prioritising the needs of the women, youth and communities we serve.
Leadership
Developing local leaders and empowering communities to drive their own development.
Advocacy
Championing the rights of women and young people on SRHR, gender-based violence and inclusion.
Equity
Ensuring fair access to health, education and economic opportunity for all, including persons living with disability.
Justice
Confronting the systemic barriers that deny communities a dignified life.
Integrity
Operating with transparency and accountability in all our programmes and partnerships.
